Are you using a Pur filter? If yes, let me also ask you if you are satisfied with the way it performs?
My personal experience with a Pur filter has been an eye opener. One of the main things which this filter seriously lacks is its incapability to protect against harmful and hard minerals. It may just end up eliminating the essential minerals while letting pass the other harmful ones.
If you take water from any place on this Earth, you will find metal and mineral traces in it. While minerals like Calcium and Magnesium, found in natural water are essential for our body; there are some harmful heavy minerals too.
These minerals are what a Pur filter fails to remove. It is fairly effective for other types of contaminants, especially sediments and cysts. However, when it comes to the health of one’s family, all of us want a fool proof solution.
And this is where the multi stage water purifiers come in.
They typically employ two stages of filtration involving a combination of carbon filtration, sub micron filtration and ion exchange. When water is made to pass through these purification units, the quality of the water is certainly guaranteed.
Due to the cutting edge techniques, all types of organic and inorganic; chemical and synthetic impurities are removed from the water. They also remove harmful minerals and metal traces while retaining those which are good for our health.
The filtration step involving ion exchange ensures that the harmful ions are exchanged with the useful ones like that of Sodium and Potassium and the water thus generated is clean, pure as well as healthy.
Additionally these systems also enhance the pH balance in the water. All these features have made these purifiers my personal favorites.
They are reasonably priced and are economical to maintain too – costing something less than 10 cents per gallon of clean and pure water. Isn’t this an insignificant amount for health and great tasting water?
Talking about the taste of the water let me also add that the final taste of the water produced by a Pur filter has always been in controversy. The flavored drinking water produced by these filters is something that has attracted many researchers to find out the complete truth. I hope to hear the whole story soon.
