Osmosis Water Filters

Osmosis Water Filters

Are you using a reverse osmosis water filter? If yes, then I have one bad and one good news for you.

Let me start with the bad one first. It is related to the quality of the water produced by a reverse osmosis water filter.

Basically a reverse osmosis water filter works by using a thin semi permeable membrane which has ultra fine pores in it. When water is forced under pressure to pass through it, whatever is smaller than the pores is allowed to pass while the larger particles are left behind.

Since water molecules are smaller than the size of the pores, they are successful in passing the membrane. However, the larger contaminants like pesticides and cysts are blocked and hence separated from the water.

Now what does not gets separated from water is the contaminants like chlorine and prescription drugs which have a smaller molecular size. These deadly contaminants are still present in the “pure” water produced by a RO water purifier!

These pollutants are extremely hazardous and can lead to various health ailments. This is one reason why you should be careful with these purifiers.

Another reason is the mineral content of the water which is larger in molecular size and hence is stripped off from water. These minerals like Calcium and Magnesium are present in natural water and are very much required for the normal functioning of our body.

If water deprived of these minerals is consumed for long, it leads to the development of multiple mineral deficieicnes which is again bad for your health. Such water is known as de-mineralized and is strictly not recommended.

So it is the quality of the reverse osmosis water for which you need to be careful. You are still not consuming the water which is clean, pure and absolutely safe for consumption.

But there is nothing to worry. Let me break the good news now.

The good news is that today times have changed. Unlike the times when reverse osmosis water filters were the only ones available in the market, today there are advanced filters based on latest technologies like sub micron filtration and ion exchange.

These filters are advanced and hence are capable of removing all types of contaminants including chlorine and drugs which are simply beyond a reverse osmosis water filter. They retain the essential minerals in water too.

And all this for an unbelievable price of less than 10 cents per gallon of water!

Their cost effectiveness is just another reason why they are slowly outdating a reverse osmosis water filter. If you too want to know more about these filters, I invite you to visit my website listed below.

Maybe it's something lacking in the water
Suddenly, water filters are in the news. Legionnaires' disease kills one tourist and sickens two others, the Legionella bacteria is found in the water at Miami's Epic Hotel and Residences, and we are told that the hotel was using a powerful filter that stripped its water of protective chlorine and made it susceptible to such bacteria.
