I purchased these filters for my Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator. I have purchased them online before, and they are identical to the ones I paid a great deal more for from Sears.
Easy to use..

Product works as expected. Easy to remove old one and put in new one. The price for this 2-pack was the best I could find anywhere.
Nice filters, excellent water taste (no taste)

These are the 200 gallon models that filter about 17 different impurities, which is great, but wasn't stated in the ad. I had bottled water from two different filtration stations (Culligan) from in front of 2 different grocery stores and the water from these clearly tasted off, kind of soapy. The water from my fridge after flushing the filter properly was completely tasteless, which is what water is supposed to taste like. Good filters. I'm sure I can use it each for 1 full year, as our water is quite clean, but just has alot of Chlorine.

Great taste--but...

We have a KitchenAid refrigerator that will take either this cyst reducing filter or the fast fill filter. I think that the refrigerator came with the fast fill but according to the manufacturer it can use either. The filter makes the water taste much better than tap water. We live in Portland, Oregon and the water is supposedly pretty good from Bull Run, but I have had to replace this filter every 4-6 weeks since September 2009. I thought maybe it was temporary sediment in the water that was clogging the filter, but there is no visible sediment in the regular tap water. I wanted the added filtration of this filter but having to replace it so frequently is annoying. When the filter is new, water flows normally from the water dispenser. After about 2 weeks it starts to come out more slowly and by about a month to 6 weeks it starts to slow to a trickle.

One thing I have noticed--I usually place a glass of water next to my bed at night. If it is bottled water, it tastes bad by morning, but the water that comes from the filter still tastes good in the morning.

I was wondering if anyone else had experienced the problem of frequently having to replace this filter. I will probably call the manufacturer about it.
