If it fits is it ok to use a 14 volt battery on a 12 volt drill? will it hurt it at all or void warranty?

At work we have an old 9 volt dewalt drill and we sometimes use 12 or 14 volt batteries on it and it seems to work fine. I own a black and decker firestorm 12 volt drill.

Basically, the windings and armature of each drill is set for the voltage that is marked on it. Yes, a higher battery will make it work, but you are ruining the drill motor and your warrenty is completely void. As soon as they open it, they will know what happened and why. In the case of an old drill, there is no warrenty, but your life span is being shortened drastically.
