The importance of water for human existence can be estimated from the fact that a major portion of a human body is constituted of water. But have you ever thought about what may be lurking in the water that you and your family members drink every day? Well, it may be bacteria, fungi and other toxic metals that may prove to be extremely harmful for humans in the long run. If you are considerate about the safety and health of your family, then it is the wisest thing to invest in a reliable and effective water filters purifier. It is significant to provide safety to your family and this can be adequately done by giving them safe water to drink.
How to find a water purifier system: As far as drinking water purification systems are concerned, you may be lost in the ocean of options available in the market. While searching for a water purifier for your home, it is wise to carry out a thorough research of all the models available in the market and make a list of ones that you would like to buy. It is a fact that all drinking water purifier systems are not that successful in removing the unsafe chemicals and if you invest in a wrong model of water purifier, then you will just end up wasting your money in a useless piece of equipment. These reviews can be found in different places including newspapers, magazines and classifieds, but the fastest way to find the one is over the Internet. There are literally thousands of sites over the net that offer reviews of models manufactured by different companies. If you are interested to buy a purifier of a particular brand, then you can visit the company's site and find the one that best suits your requirements, preferences and budget. Comments left by people on such sites may prove to be extremely helpful in choosing the best water purifier system for your household. If you can't completely rely upon these sources of information, you can ask for referrals from your relatives and friends. These people may suggest you which one to buy and which one not to buy depending upon their experience. If you find that one of your friends is satisfied with a particular model of water purifier, then buying that same model will be wise for you.
Types of drinking water purification systems: While purchasing a water purifier system, you need to give attention to the amount of water you need to purify everyday. The more water you purify, the faster the machine will wear out. There are several companies in Honululu, Hawaii and Oahu that are manufacturing purifiers for different quantities of usage. You can purchase a water purifier not only for your household but also for the time when you are traveling or on a camping trip. Bottle purifiers are portable and can be carried anywhere you go. Other purification systems may include electric water purifiers, water filters, water filter pitchers, water dispensers, single clear purifiers, pure bottle-less water coolers, UV water purification model and reverse osmosis purification models.
Before purchasing a water purifier, make sure to taste the water it produces. This is important because taste of water changes after purifying and you should check whether you are comfortable with that taste or not.

Which water purifier system works best? Let's look at what water quality should be and what type of water purification system is best for the home. And importantly what is best for your health.

Water Quality Standards

Standards for public water purification are lacking. Bottled water is simply tap water that has been run through some sort of water purifier. The need for in-home water purifiers is real, but not all products really provide pure water.

What Water Should Be

Pure water should be chemical free. It should be free of illness causing bacteria. The mineral content and pH level should be well balanced. It should taste and smell good. The more you learn about public water treatment facilities, the more you realize that what they do can not be called water purification.

Be Careful!

So, the in-home water purifier has become popular and you find them attached to kitchen faucets and sitting on kitchen counters in homes around the country. Every company claims that their products are the best water purifiers in the world. The truth is that some of them are not actually water purifiers at all.

A very popular product sold on the home shopping network for around $40. Since, pure is a part of the companies brand name, people bought the units for in home water purification. It just seemed logical.

What a number of dissatisfied customers learned was that the so-called water purifier did nothing but remove some of the chlorine and odor. That’s not what water purification is. Good water purifiers can do so much more.

Chlorine and other Contaminants

Chlorine in the drinking water is a problem that most American’s face, but it is not the only contaminant found in tap water. Consumer protection agencies estimate that there are some 2400 cancer causing chemicals in tap water. The best water purifiers can remove them all.

Lead Found in Water Supplies

In some areas, lead has been found in the drinking water. Lead is a toxic metal that builds up in our bodies over time. By the time you have symptoms of lead poisoning; the damage has already been done. How could a product that does not block lead honestly be called a water purifier?

The company mentioned above says that it does not claim to sell water purifiers. So, if a customer misunderstands, it’s their own fault. But, in the TV ads, people would drink the water and say things like, “Wow! That tastes pure.” Really?

Eventually, the Federal Trade Commission might bring charges against them for false advertising or misleading statements. Over the years, a number of “water purification” systems have been brought up on charges. One, a product made by Company N, actually added a toxic chemical to tap water. Water purifiers should not add. They should take out the bad and leave the good.

Reverse Osmosis? – The Truth

Another system that is considered an effective water purifier is reverse osmosis. Reverse osmosis systems for home use cost around $10,000. They are the most expensive products on the market. The problem is that they take out the good and leave some of the bad. They reduce particles, like mud. They de-mineralize water. But, they cannot block chemicals like pesticides. So, even if you buy a reverse osmosis water purifier, you would also have to install carbon activated filters to block chemicals, and you would still be drinking de-mineralized water, which is bad for your health.

There are a number of technologically advanced water purifier systems on the market and they are affordable. You just have to do a little research, so that you don’t buy an ineffective product. For more information see my website for the water purifier system that works best. -Larry L. Taylor

Water Purifier Systems

People often make the mistake of taking a water purifier for a water filter, though the two items have certain things in common, they are nevertheless two distinct items. While both remove bacteria by using a mechanical force for pumping water through a screening device, only a water purifier has the necessary features to render the micro-organisms in the water inactive. There are two ways to complete the inactivation: either by chemical or by electrostatic procedures. The use of a water purifier is necessary even for waters in the wild that are considered relatively safe; they may still contain some micro-organisms that could endanger human health.

The ideal water purifier should include a filtering surface with pores no larger than 0.2 microns; such a device is considered the safest since very few bacteria are smaller than 0.2 microns. Even if there be any viruses left after filtration, they are inactivated through the purification process by ozone, chlorine or ultraviolet light. Depending on the technical complexity, some parts of the water purifier may require special maintenance and the replacement of certain parts. You should check the device regularly to make sure that everything is working properly, otherwise your water source may become unreliable.

The filter in the water purifier also requires regular cleaning, this means that from time to time you will have to let it dry. If you use a portable device, try to collect still, clear water so as to avoid too many impurities accumulating in the filtering screen. The water purifier will retain all the internal elements with a size larger than the filtering pores, and only afterwards will clean water be dispensed in the special container from which you drink it. The most commonly used disinfectant that you are likely to find in a water purifier is iodine (usually under the form of iodine resins.

Another type of water purifier uses a positive electrostatic charge as a means of inactivating viruses and bacteria. More advanced models rely on ultraviolet light for the water purification process, but such devices are usually a lot more expensive than the iodine and the electrostatic energy-based ones. The choice is entirely up to you, regardless if we are talking about portable or fix devices, nevertheless always consider the usage extent of the water purifier to make sure that the investment is truly worth making. It would be a waste of money to buy a far too advanced water purifier model when you only need it from time to time.

Faucet Water Purifier

For a healthy person it may be pretty difficult to see how waterborne contaminants could compromise one's body system, but for people who already have low body defenses the problem is a dire one. A home water purifier is a must-have item particularly for those who suffer from cancer, AIDS, kidney dysfunctions, asthma or diabetes. In such cases, a waterborne illness may be un-treatable and even fatal. Sometimes smell, taste and water hardness add up to the list of discontents that force one to have a home water purifier installed. No chlorine, no germs, and less money paid on bottled water: these are the great advantages a home water purifier brings.

There are two types of home water purifier systems that are fighting for top efficiency positions on the market: the ultraviolet and ozone devices on the one hand, and distillation systems on the other. The former are highly useful by the inactivation of the viruses, but they do not remove the contaminants by themselves. Such a problem can only be dealt with by the combined use of a UV home water purifier and a filter so that only the water free of sediments will pass through the ultraviolet lamp chamber.

A home water purifier that relies on distillation will reduce the contaminants by boiling the water; steam is condensed in a special chamber and collected in a storage tank. The disadvantage of such a home water purifier is the possibility that certain contaminants may evaporate and pass into the clean water supply. Furthermore, distillation systems use a lot of energy, they generate heat and are often predisposed to scaling, not to mention that only a pretty low volume of water is produced every day. Consequently, the odds are that you'd be a lot more content with a UV or ozone home water purifier than with a distillation-based one.

The installation of a home water purifier meant to deal with the necessities of an entire house should be left to a professional, since things are a bit more complicated than simply attaching a device to a faucet. Home kits will not do for the matter, and it is definitely worth paying some money to a specialized team than to take the risk of improper installation. Periodical checks are also required to make sure that everything works well, and you may also have to replace some filters and other detachable parts that might deteriorate in time.

Which water purifier system works best? Let's look at what water quality should be and what type of water purification system is best for the home. And importantly what is best for your health.

-Larry L.
Do air purifying units that use water filtration systems work well?

I'm looking into maybe buying a small air purifier from say Thermax, and am seeing negative reviews. Are there any solid benefits to water filtration? I'd like to get as much information as I can, as I can't seem to find an actual air quality specialist with no biases to contact.

I am an air quality specialist with bias...toward what our customers say works for them. If there is one thing about the air purifier market, it is that there is always a new gimmick for cleaning the air. Be careful that whatever you end up with will have independent third party testing to show how well it does what it claims to do.

We offer high quality air cleaning products at http://www.allergy-relief-air-purifier.com/ at affordable prices and have the testing and experience to back up our products. I will not try to convince you by a sales pitch. I would just like to offer you a place to go for information about air purifier basics, how to shop for air purifiers and general information about indoor air quality. I hope this helps.

Whole House Water Purifier

Are you planning to buy a water purifier? Going to a store is not enough, and you’ll soon find out why the moment the online shop homepage loads or the moment you get to the water purifier section. There are just far too many options in the market, and each one of them, expectedly, claims to be the best.

So how do you really know which one is the best that suits your needs?

Water Purifier Reviews: What Role Do They Play?

This is where you call for reinforcements – water purifier reviews. Water purifier reviews are reviews on the various brands and models of water purifiers usually written by industry experts or consumers. These reviews often reveal a lot about the water purifier you have in mind, and they give information not provided by the water purifier brands themselves, which means information is unbiased and objective.

Most reviews list down the pros and cons of the water purifier, and notes any special observations in terms of actual use of the product.

Not all reviews, however, can be trusted. Look for reviews from trusted reviewers and review sites such as magazine reviews. Also, reading professional reviews is not as good as reading reviews from actual consumers like you.

Some reviews focus on company information and brand milestones; these are not the reviews that can help you in your choice. Look for reviews that revolve around the actual installation and use of the products. Important factors include reliability, price, durability, and performance.

Commonly Reviewed Water Purifiers

Several water purifier reviews focus on these popular types of water purifiers.

1. Whole house water purifiers

Most reviews recommend whole house water purifiers because of the complete and hassle-free protection they offer. Whole house purifiers already take care of all the water sources in your house as well as all your water appliances. In other words, all the water that flows into the house has been purified. This means your shower, sink, bathtubs, washing machines, water heaters, and dishwashers are all safe.

2. Pitcher water filters

If you are looking specifically for a water purifier for your drinking water and are under a budget, check out pitcher water filters. Water plays many roles, but drinking water is probably its most important. Pitcher water filters can effectively remove up to 99% of contaminants from your drinking water without a large investment. It is convenient and can improve the color and taste of the water you drink.

3. In-line water filters or refrigerator water purifiers

If you dispense water directly from a built-in dispenser on your refrigerator, the pitcher filters won’t work for you. What you need are in-line water filters or fridge filters, which are filters attached to your refrigerator so it dispenses clean and safe water. These purifiers also make sure the water used in making ice is also clean and purified.

4. Faucet and showerhead water purifiers

If you want to purify water that comes out of specific water sources at home such as certain sinks and showerheads, there are individual faucet filters and showerhead filters around. You can easily attach these purifiers to the faucets and showerheads so water gets effectively cleansed before it is released. These purifiers are less expensive and highly convenient; they are also easy to install as you don’t have to connect them to your main piping anymore, which means you don’t need to have basic plumbing knowledge to use them.

These are all the available water purifier systems around. To choose one from among these options, get help from water purifier reviews.
