Hard water has higher calcium while soft water has low calcium. You have to check the calcium level, each time you refill the tub with water. For every liter, ideally, an appropriate calcium level for the tub ranges between 100 and 200 mg. Damage or corrosion will occur if the calcium level in the tub is less than this. Then use products such as the Hot Tub Hardness Plus if you find that the level of calcium is lower than the range mentioned. This will increase the calcium level up to the ideal. The results will be cloudy water if the level of your hot tub is way above than the ideal.
3. PH level
You should check the hot tub ph level on a regular basis, it is very important. You can buy Test Strips at the drugstore, the ideal range of 7.4 to 7.6. The alkaline provides an ideal condition and protects the equipment. Use the Test Strips that you can buy over the counter at your local drug stores. Ideally, the pH range equates 7.4 up to 7.6.
